Charlie Coyle Scores His 100th Goal; Bruins Throttle Caps 7-3

The Bruins had lost 8 out of their last 9 before their meeting with the Caps. They were 1-12-4 in their last 17 against Washington. Your money should be on the Capitals, right? Wrong.

The Boston Bruins showed their offensive prowl notching seven goals against the Holtby/Samsonov tandem. Charlie Coyle (6) grabbed the 100th goal of his career, as Patrice Bergeron, Andres Bjork, Jake Debrusk, and Brad Marchand all joined in the festivities.

Lars Eller, Garnet Hathaway, and Alex Ovechkin grabbed goals for the Capitals.

A physical game resulted in 26 penalty minutes and ejection for Washington forward Tom Wilson. Wilson was ejected after an altercation with David Pastrnak.

It was a huge win for the Bruins, who were on a rough skid these past few weeks. For the Capitals, it’s a tough loss in a game they expected to win.

The B’s (22-7-9) now sit comfortably at the top of the Atlantic Division with 53 points. The Capitals (26-7-5) lose just their third game this month.
